دُعَاءُ الشُّكْرِ عَلَى الذُّرِّيَّةِ

Quran 14:39 records Ibrahim thanking Allah for Isma'il and Ishaq in his old age. A pregnant reader may choose it as a general reflection on gratitude.

Quran 14:7 says, "If you are grateful, I will surely increase you." Hamila does not interpret that verse as a promise of a particular pregnancy outcome.

Duʿa of Gratitude for a Child

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي وَهَبَ لِي عَلَى الْكِبَرِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ وَإِسْحَاقَ ۚ إِنَّ رَبِّي لَسَمِيعُ الدُّعَاءِ

Al-ḥamdu lillāhilladhī wahaba lī ʿalal-kibari Ismāʿīla wa Isḥāq. Inna rabbī la-samīʿud-duʿāʾ.

All praise is for Allah, who granted me Ishmael and Isaac in my old age. Indeed, my Lord is the Hearer of supplication.
