Surah Al-Ikhlas During Pregnancy — A Third of the Quran

سُورَةُ الْإِخْلَاصِ

Four verses of pure tawhid — and the Prophet ﷺ swore they equal one third of the Quran in reward (Bukhari 5013). In the tiring final trimester, when long recitation feels out of reach, Al-Ikhlas lets a mother fill her day with immense reward in seconds.

Together with Al-Falaq and An-Nas, it forms the three Quls — the protection routine the Prophet ﷺ recited morning, evening, and before sleep, blowing into his hands and wiping over his body (Bukhari 5017).

قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ ۝ اللَّهُ الصَّمَدُ ۝ لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ ۝ وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌ

Qul huwallahu ahad. Allahus-samad. Lam yalid wa lam yulad. Wa lam yakun lahu kufuwan ahad

Say: He is Allah, the One. Allah, the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is born, nor is there to Him any equivalent.

When to Recite It

Three times in the morning, three in the evening, and three before sleep — with Al-Falaq and An-Nas — suffices as protection for the day and night (Abu Dawud 5082). A practical anchor for the third trimester and the postpartum weeks.
